An arm lift (brachioplasty) removes loose, hanging skin and excess fat from the upper arms, often called bingo wings, for a firmer, smoother arm shape. With Valentmedica, an all-inclusive arm lift in Turkey costs £2,300–£3,600, often less than half the price of private surgery in the UK, and includes your surgeon, hospital stay, hotel and airport transfers.
Drag the slider to compare. Every body is different, and individual results vary.
An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is an operation that removes excess skin and fat from the underside of the upper arm and tightens the remaining tissue. It treats loose, hanging skin that exercise cannot fix, leaving a scar along the inner arm or, in a mini arm lift, a short scar hidden in the armpit.
Loose upper arm skin is very common after major weight loss, with age, and in people whose skin has lost its elasticity. Exercise can strengthen the muscle underneath, but it cannot tighten stretched skin. That is why many people who are otherwise happy with their body still avoid sleeveless tops or feel self-conscious when they wave.
An arm lift removes that excess skin surgically, and liposuction is often added to remove fat and refine the shape. The trade-off is a permanent scar. A good surgeon places it where it is least visible and plans the lift so the scar is worth the improvement for you.
| Technique | Scar | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Mini arm lift | Short scar hidden in the armpit crease | Mild looseness close to the armpit |
| Standard arm lift | Along the inner arm, from the armpit to just above the elbow | Moderate to severe hanging skin on the upper arm |
| Extended arm lift | As standard, continuing down the side of the chest | Loose skin on the arm and upper chest wall, often after major weight loss |
| Liposuction only | Tiny entry points | Good skin elasticity with excess fat, but no hanging skin |
At Valentmedica, an arm lift in Turkey costs £2,300–£3,600 in 2026 as an all-inclusive package. A mini arm lift sits at the lower end, while an extended arm lift or an arm lift combined with liposuction costs more. Your exact price depends on the amount of loose skin, the technique and your length of stay.
| Procedure | Price (GBP) | Hospital nights |
|---|---|---|
| Mini arm lift (armpit scar) | £2,300–£2,700 | 0–1 |
| Standard arm lift | £2,600–£3,100 | 1 |
| Extended arm lift (to the chest wall) | £2,900–£3,400 | 1 |
| Arm lift + liposuction of the arms | £3,100–£3,600 | 1 |
Prices are for 2026 and include surgery, hospital stay, hotel and transfers. US dollar and euro prices vary with exchange rates. Your exact price is confirmed in writing after your online assessment.
Your final quote depends on the amount of loose skin, whether the lift needs to extend onto the chest wall, whether you add liposuction or combine the arm lift with another operation such as a tummy tuck or breast lift, the surgeon's experience, the hospital category and the number of nights you need. Very low prices often leave out garments, check-ups or hotel nights, so compare what is written in the quote, not just the headline figure.
Elsewhere you usually pay for the operation alone. A Valentmedica package also includes your hospital stay, hotel, transfers and a personal coordinator.

Patients choose Turkey for a much lower all-inclusive price, experienced body-contouring surgeons, modern private hospitals, short waiting times and the chance to combine an arm lift with other procedures in a single trip.
Turkey has become one of the world's leading medical travel destinations. According to Turkish industry figures reported in July 2026, the country welcomed around 1.4 million health tourists in 2025, generating over $3 billion in revenue. Body contouring after weight loss is one of the most requested aesthetic categories.
Arm lifts are steadily popular worldwide: the American Society of Plastic Surgeons recorded 23,527 upper arm lifts in the US in 2024, 2% more than the year before.
You may be a good candidate if you have loose, hanging skin on your upper arms, your weight has been stable for at least 6 to 12 months, you are in good general health, you do not smoke (or can stop) and you are comfortable accepting a visible scar in exchange for a firmer arm shape.
Most patients stay in Turkey for 5 to 7 days: arrival and consultation on day one, surgery on day two, usually one night in hospital, then hotel recovery with check-ups and a dressing change until your surgeon clears you to fly.
Send photos of your arms from the front and back, with your arms raised to the side, and your medical history. A plastic surgeon reviews your case and you receive a personal plan and written quote.
Your driver meets you at the airport. You meet your surgeon, who marks the planned scar, and you complete your blood tests and anaesthetist review.
The operation takes 2–3 hours under general anaesthetic. You wake up with dressings and compression garments on both arms.
Your surgeon checks your arms before you leave the hospital. If drains were used, they are usually removed within the first few days.
Keep your arms raised on pillows when resting, walk little and often and go to your scheduled check-up and dressing change.
Once your surgeon confirms you are fit to fly, you head home with your garments and aftercare plan.
Share progress photos and questions with your coordinator and surgeon. We recommend telling your GP or doctor about your surgery.

An arm lift takes about 2–3 hours under general anaesthetic, usually needs one night in hospital and a 5–7 day stay in Turkey, and lets most people return to desk work after 1–2 weeks. The shape improves immediately, the final result shows after 6–12 months and it is long-lasting if your weight stays stable.
| Arm lift | |
|---|---|
| Operation time | 2–3 hours; about 1–1.5 hours for a mini arm lift |
| Anaesthesia | General anaesthetic; sometimes local anaesthetic with sedation for a mini arm lift |
| Hospital stay | Usually 1 night |
| Time in Turkey | 5–7 days |
| Compression garments | Day and night for about 4–6 weeks |
| Back to desk work | 1–2 weeks |
| Lifting and arm exercise | Avoid heavy lifting and raising your arms above shoulder height for 4–6 weeks |
| Full exercise | After about 6 weeks |
| Final result | 6–12 months |
| Scar | Inner arm (or armpit only for a mini arm lift); fades over 12–18 months |
| Valentmedica price | £2,300–£3,600 all-inclusive |
Your surgeon marks the excess skin with your arms raised, often removes fat with liposuction, then makes an incision along the inner arm (or in the armpit for a mini arm lift), removes the loose skin and fat, and closes the wound in layers for a smooth, tight contour.
Expect swelling, bruising and tightness for 1–2 weeks, a return to desk work after 1–2 weeks, compression garments for about 4–6 weeks and no heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for about 6 weeks. The final shape shows after 6–12 months, while the scar keeps fading for 12–18 months.
| When | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Days 1–3 | Tightness, swelling and mild to moderate discomfort, controlled with medication. Keep your arms raised on pillows when resting. |
| Week 1 | You can wash, dress and do light daily tasks with care. Swelling and bruising peak and then begin to settle. |
| Weeks 1–2 | Most people return to desk work. Keep wearing your garments day and night. |
| Weeks 2–4 | Bruising has usually gone. Light walking and everyday activities, but no heavy lifting or reaching overhead. |
| Weeks 4–6 | Swelling keeps improving; many people can reduce garment wear when their surgeon agrees. |
| 6 weeks | Most people can return to full exercise, including upper body workouts, when their surgeon agrees. |
| 6–12 months | The final arm shape is visible. The scar changes from pink to pale and continues to fade for up to 18 months. |
Swelling, bruising, tightness, some numbness on the inner arm and forearm, and a firm, raised scar in the first months are normal after an arm lift and settle gradually. Sudden swelling, increasing pain, fever, a wound that opens or a swollen, painful hand or calf are not normal and should be reported straight away.
Good aftercare means wearing your compression garments day and night as instructed, keeping your arms raised when resting, looking after your incisions, avoiding heavy lifting and reaching overhead for 4–6 weeks, not smoking, protecting your scars from the sun and attending every check-up, including remote follow-ups once you are home.
An arm lift in Turkey can be as safe as at home when it is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon in a licensed and accredited hospital, with proper pre-operative checks, enough time before flying and a clear aftercare plan. Serious complications are uncommon; most problems are minor and relate to healing and scarring.
Every arm lift carries risks, wherever it is performed. The most common are wide or raised scars, fluid collection under the skin (seroma), slow wound healing and numbness on the inner arm. Less common risks include infection, bleeding (haematoma), injury to a skin nerve, asymmetry, lymphoedema and blood clots.
The research is reassuring about serious problems. A study of 2,294 arm lift patients, published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal in 2016, found a major complication rate of 3.4%, and only 1.3% when the arm lift was done on its own rather than combined with other operations. A 2017 literature review of 27 studies and 1,065 patients found that most complications were minor: hypertrophic (raised) scars in about 11%, seroma in about 7% and healing problems in about 6% of patients, with nerve injury in 1.5%.
Yes. An arm lift is often combined with liposuction, a tummy tuck, a breast lift or a thigh lift, especially after major weight loss, provided your surgeon considers the total operating time safe for you. Combining procedures increases the complication risk, so some patients are better treated in stages.
After major weight loss, loose skin rarely affects the arms alone. Combining an arm lift with a tummy tuck, breast lift, thigh lift or a body lift means one anaesthetic, one recovery and one trip. Your surgeon will balance that convenience against safety, as longer combined operations carry a higher risk.
| Arm lift | Liposuction of the arms | |
|---|---|---|
| Removes loose skin | Yes | No |
| Removes fat | Yes, often with liposuction | Yes |
| Scar | Along the inner arm or in the armpit | Tiny entry points |
| Downtime | About 1–2 weeks | A few days to a week |
| Ideal for | Hanging or loose skin, including after weight loss | Excess fat with good skin tone |
Keep your weight stable, stop smoking and nicotine at least 6 weeks before surgery, review your medication and supplements with your surgeon, arrange 1–2 weeks off work and help with lifting at home, and pack loose, front-opening clothing.
An arm lift gives a firmer, smoother upper arm straight away, with the final shape visible after 6–12 months. The result is long-lasting if your weight stays stable. The scar is permanent, but it usually fades from pink to a pale line over 12–18 months and is placed where it is least visible with your arms at your side.
Your arms will look better immediately, although swelling hides the final shape for a few months. Ageing and weight changes can loosen the skin again over time, but a stable weight and healthy habits help your result last for many years. The scar is the main trade-off: with good healing, careful sun protection and scar care it usually becomes a fine, pale line, although some people form wider or raised scars. At Valentmedica, an arm lift in Turkey costs £2,300–£3,600 in 2026 as an all-inclusive package covering the surgeon, hospital stay, hotel and transfers. A mini arm lift costs less, while an extended arm lift or an arm lift with liposuction costs more.
Yes. In the UK a private arm lift usually costs £5,500–£10,700 for the surgery alone, with both arms typically around £7,300–£8,300 at leading London clinics. A Valentmedica all-inclusive package in Turkey costs £2,300–£3,600, including accommodation and transfers.
Most patients stay 5 to 7 days. This allows for the consultation, surgery, usually one night in hospital, a check-up and dressing change and a fit-to-fly check before you travel home.
An arm lift always leaves a scar. In a standard arm lift it runs along the inner arm from the armpit towards the elbow, where it is least visible with your arms at your side. A mini arm lift leaves a short scar in the armpit. Most scars fade to a pale line over 12 to 18 months.
A mini arm lift removes a small amount of skin through a short incision in the armpit and suits mild looseness close to the armpit. A full (standard) arm lift removes loose skin along the whole upper arm, leaving a longer scar on the inner arm, and suits moderate to severe hanging skin.
Exercise and liposuction can reduce fat and tone the muscle, but they cannot remove loose, hanging skin. If your skin still hangs when your arm is raised, an arm lift is the only reliable way to remove it.
Most patients describe tightness and soreness rather than sharp pain. It is well controlled with medication and usually improves significantly within the first week.
Most people return to desk work after 1 to 2 weeks. Heavy lifting, reaching above shoulder height and upper body workouts should wait for about 6 weeks, until your surgeon agrees.
Most surgeons recommend waiting until your weight has been stable for at least 6 to 12 months, which is usually 12 to 18 months after weight-loss surgery. Your blood tests and nutrition should also be in good shape to support healing.
The removed skin and fat do not come back, so the result is long-lasting. Ageing and weight changes can loosen the skin again over time, so keeping a stable weight is the best way to protect your result.
Most surgeons advise waiting at least 5 to 7 days after an arm lift, and longer after combined procedures, because flying soon after an operation increases the risk of blood clots. Your surgeon will confirm when you are fit to fly.
With Valentmedica you keep direct contact with your coordinator and surgeon after you fly home, so photos and questions can be reviewed quickly. We also recommend that you inform your GP or local doctor about your surgery and seek urgent local care for any emergency.
