PRP skin rejuvenation uses your own blood, spun to concentrate the platelets, then microneedled or injected into the skin. The growth factors stimulate collagen and improve texture. At Valentmedica it costs £140–£220 a session, and it treats skin quality rather than lines, volume or laxity.
PRP patients treated in Istanbul with Valentmedica, photographed at three months under standardised lighting without makeup. Skin-quality results are subtle, and photographs taken any other way are not worth showing.
Platelet-rich plasma is made from your own blood. A sample is spun to separate the platelet-rich fraction, which is then delivered into the skin by microneedling or fine injection, where the growth factors platelets carry stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen.
Platelets exist to signal repair. When tissue is injured they release growth factors — PDGF, TGF-beta, VEGF, EGF — that recruit cells, build new blood vessels and lay down collagen. PRP borrows that mechanism: concentrate the platelets, place them in the dermis, and the skin responds as though it is repairing itself.
The microneedling that usually accompanies it is not just a delivery method. Thousands of microscopic channels are themselves a controlled injury that triggers collagen production, and the PRP amplifies that response. The combination is better supported than either alone.

It does not add up on its own. A course is three sessions a month apart, which would mean three trips. PRP makes sense added to a trip you are already making, or arranged at home. We say this on every page where it applies, because selling a package that requires three flights would be dishonest.
Elsewhere you usually pay for the operation alone. A Valentmedica package also includes your hospital stay, hotel, transfers and a personal coordinator.

PRP suits patients whose complaint is skin quality — texture, dullness, fine lines, acne scarring — rather than volume, laxity or deep wrinkles.
Our self-check below gives you a starting answer, and a Valentmedica doctor assesses your photographs free of charge and will tell you honestly if PRP is unlikely to address what is bothering you.
Forty-five to sixty minutes, with redness for a day or two afterwards.
No blood thinners or anti-inflammatories for a week, no retinoids for five days, and drink plenty of water so the blood draw is straightforward.
Your skin is examined and photographed under standardised lighting without makeup. Without a baseline photograph you cannot judge a subtle treatment.
15–30 ml taken from your arm, exactly as for a blood test.
Spun twice to concentrate the platelets, taking about fifteen minutes. You can watch this happen.
Topical anaesthetic applied for twenty to thirty minutes.
A motorised pen creates thousands of micro-channels at a depth matched to the area — shallower around the eyes, deeper on acne scarring.
The concentrate is applied to the skin so it passes through the channels, and injected directly into specific areas such as the under-eye.
Applied for fifteen minutes to calm the skin before you leave.
Repeated monthly for three sessions, then maintenance every six to twelve months.
The hospital and hotel you will be using, and the specifics you can check before you pay a deposit.
The facility is named to you in writing, with its licence and accreditation numbers, so you can verify it rather than take our word for it. If you would like to see the building, ask: we can usually arrange a visit before you decide.
The preparation determines the result. Platelet concentration is what distinguishes an effective treatment from an expensive blood draw.
Redness like moderate sunburn for 24 to 48 hours, then normal. Results build over four to six weeks and peak after the third session.
PRP uses your own blood, so there is no risk of allergy or disease transmission. It is one of the safest treatments in aesthetics — the honest caveat is about scale of effect, not safety.
Valentmedica works with licensed clinics in Istanbul using closed-system PRP kits and sterile single-use microneedling cartridges, with doctors registered with the Turkish Ministry of Health. Your blood is drawn, spun and returned to you in the same room.
PRP is not appropriate if you have a platelet disorder, are on anticoagulants, have an active skin infection or inflammatory skin condition in the treatment area, or are pregnant.
Routinely. PRP treats skin quality, which is one of three components of facial ageing — the others being volume and position.
A complete non-surgical plan usually addresses all three: toxin for movement, filler for volume, and PRP or boosters for skin quality. PRP alone leaves two thirds of the picture untouched.
If you are having surgery with us, ask about PRP at your consultation. There is a sensible sequence, and PRP into freshly operated skin is not it.
Stop anti-inflammatories and retinoids, hydrate well, eat beforehand, and arrive without makeup.
Expect gradual improvement in texture, brightness and fine lines from four to six weeks, peaking about three months after a course of three. The effect fades over six to twelve months.
The honest description of a good PRP result is "my skin looks better" rather than "I look younger". Texture smooths, pores look smaller, the skin reflects light more evenly and fine crepiness softens — particularly under the eyes, which is one of the treatment's best applications because it is an area where laser is risky and filler is unforgiving.
It is not dramatic, and we would rather frame it accurately than have you measure a subtle treatment against a dramatic promise. Judge it at three months after your third session, against a standardised baseline photograph taken without makeup in the same light. Patients who do that are usually pleased; patients relying on memory usually are not. Maintenance every six to twelve months holds the effect. You can see standardised comparisons in our before and after gallery.
At Valentmedica, £140–£200 per session for the face or £380–£520 for a course of three. The UK equivalent is typically £400–£800 per session. Most patients add it to a trip they are already making.
Yes — PRP combined with microneedling is what that name refers to. The widely reported infection cases traced back to reused needles and unsterile equipment rather than to PRP itself. Ask whether the microneedling cartridge is single-use and opened in front of you.
Skin quality: texture, brightness, pore appearance, fine lines and crepiness, and mild acne scarring. It does nothing for sagging, volume loss or deep wrinkles, which are structural problems rather than skin ones.
Three, a month apart, then maintenance every six to twelve months. A single session will not produce a meaningful or lasting result.
Four to six weeks for the first visible change, because collagen production takes that long. The cumulative effect peaks about three months after your third session.
Six to twelve months before the effect gradually fades. PRP stimulates your own collagen, and that collagen is subject to the same ageing as the rest, so maintenance is needed.
Mild. Topical anaesthetic is applied for twenty to thirty minutes beforehand, and most patients describe the needling as a scratchy, warm sensation rather than painful. The blood draw is an ordinary needle.
Redness like moderate sunburn for 24 to 48 hours, then normal. Makeup can usually resume at 24 to 48 hours. Leave at least a week before an event.
They do different things. PRP stimulates your own collagen production; skin boosters place hyaluronic acid into the skin for hydration and plumpness. Many patients alternate them, and the combination addresses more than either alone.
Mild to moderate rolling scars respond reasonably well to PRP with microneedling. Deep ice-pick scars need fractional laser or subcision — PRP alone will disappoint you there.
Yes, and it is one of the best uses. Under-eye crepiness is difficult to treat — laser is risky in that thin skin and filler is unforgiving — so a treatment that improves skin quality without adding volume suits the area well.
Anti-inflammatories suppress the exact platelet activity PRP relies on, and blunt the healing response microneedling triggers. Avoid them for a week before and a few days after, and use paracetamol instead.
