Skin Boosters in Turkey

2026 prices, how they differ from filler, and which product does what

Skin boosters are injectable treatments that hydrate and remodel the skin rather than adding shape. At Valentmedica a session costs £160–£320 depending on the product. They are the treatment for skin that looks tired and thin rather than lined or hollow — and the category is genuinely confusing, so this page explains which product does what.

What are skin boosters?

Skin boosters are injectable products placed into the skin itself rather than beneath it. They hold water, stimulate collagen and elastin, and improve the quality and thickness of skin — without adding volume or changing shape.

The distinction from dermal filler is the point of the whole category. Filler is cross-linked to be firm and hold a shape; it is placed deep to lift and contour. A booster is uncross-linked or lightly cross-linked, so it spreads through the skin and acts biologically rather than structurally. Injecting a booster expecting contour, or a filler expecting glow, is the commonest confusion here.

The products, and what each actually does

Profhilo is the most distinctive: an extremely high concentration of hyaluronic acid with no chemical cross-linking, placed at five fixed points per side of the face. It spreads through the tissue and stimulates collagen and elastin, producing a modest firming effect alongside hydration. It is the one booster with a genuine claim to improving laxity, though the effect is subtle.

Polynucleotides are the newer arrival and are particularly useful under the eyes, where filler is unforgiving and laser is risky. They are derived from purified salmon DNA fragments and act by supporting tissue repair rather than by holding water.

How much do skin boosters cost in Turkey?

Valentmedica charges £160–£320 per session depending on the product. The UK equivalent is typically £350–£700 per session.

What the session includes

  • Consultation and skin assessment
  • The product, with brand and batch recorded
  • Topical anaesthetic for 20 minutes
  • The injections themselves
  • Post-treatment soothing care
  • Written aftercare instructions
  • Standardised before photographs
  • A personal English-speaking coordinator

Travelling for boosters alone

A course is two to four sessions a few weeks apart, so travelling specifically for this means multiple trips. It makes sense added to a trip you are already making — a first session in Istanbul and the rest at home is a perfectly workable arrangement, and we will tell you exactly what product and dose was used so another clinic can continue it.

Am I a good candidate for skin boosters?

Boosters suit patients whose skin looks dull, dehydrated, thin or crepey — rather than those whose face has lost volume or dropped.

Skin boosters are usually worthwhile if

  • Your skin looks dull, dehydrated or lacking in glow.
  • Your skin has thinned and feels less resilient than it did.
  • You have fine crepey lines, particularly on the cheeks, neck or under the eyes.
  • Your neck or décolletage has become crepey — an area most treatments ignore.
  • You want improvement without changing the shape of your face.
  • You are in your thirties or forties and want to maintain skin quality rather than correct a problem.

Something else will serve you better if

  • Your concern is volume loss: filler or fat transfer replaces volume. Boosters do not.
  • Your concern is sagging: a thread lift or facelift is the answer.
  • Your lines are deep and set: resurfacing, filler or botulinum toxin addresses those.
  • Your main issue is pigmentation: laser, peels or topical treatment work far better.
  • You want a single treatment: boosters require a course and then repeating.
  • You have an active skin infection or inflammatory condition in the area.

Our self-check below gives you a starting answer, and a Valentmedica doctor assesses your photographs free of charge and will tell you which product — if any — actually matches your concern.

Your skin boosters journey

  • Hospital stayDay case
  1. Before

Avoid blood thinners for a few days and arrive without makeup.

  2. Assessment

Your skin is examined and photographed under standardised lighting without makeup. Your doctor establishes whether your concern is quality, volume or position — and recommends accordingly.

  3. Product selection

Profhilo for laxity and bio-remodelling, Restylane Skinboosters for hydration, polynucleotides for repair and thin under-eye skin. The choice matters and should be explained to you.

  4. Numbing

Topical anaesthetic for about twenty minutes.

  5. Injection

For Profhilo, five fixed points per side chosen to avoid vessels and nerves. For other boosters, a series of small deposits across the treatment area or a cannula pass.

  6. Immediately after

Visible raised bumps where the product sits. With Profhilo these are deliberate and settle within 24 hours as it spreads.

  7. Day 2

Bumps resolved. Normal skincare resumes, avoiding actives for a few days.

  8. Weeks 4–6

The first visible improvement in hydration and glow.

  9. The course

A second session at four weeks for Profhilo, or three to four sessions for other products, then repeat at six to nine months.

How are skin boosters injected?

Small deposits placed into the dermis itself, at a depth and pattern that depends on the product.

  1. Assessment: skin thickness, hydration and laxity are assessed, and the right product chosen. Using Profhilo where polynucleotides are indicated, or vice versa, wastes the session.
  2. Cleaning: the skin is cleaned thoroughly with antiseptic.
  3. Numbing: topical anaesthetic for twenty minutes. Most patients tolerate boosters more easily than filler because the volumes are tiny.
  4. Profhilo technique: five specific points per side — the five-point bio-aesthetic points technique — chosen as safe zones away from major vessels. Each receives 0.2 ml, and the product spreads through the tissue over the following 24 hours.
  5. Micro-bolus technique: for other boosters, numerous small deposits placed a centimetre apart across the treatment area, into the mid-dermis.
  6. Cannula technique: for the under-eye and neck, a blunt cannula distributes product through a single entry point, reducing bruising and vessel risk.
  7. Depth: into the dermis, not below it. Too deep and the product acts as a weak filler; too superficial and it forms visible lumps.
  8. Finishing: gentle massage where appropriate — though Profhilo is deliberately not massaged, because the bumps are part of how it works.

After skin boosters: what to expect

Small raised bumps for up to 24 hours and occasional bruising. Results build from four to six weeks and peak after the course.

  • Hours 0–24: visible raised bumps at each injection point. With Profhilo these are expected and should not be massaged — they settle as the product spreads.
  • Days 1–3: bumps resolved. Bruising, if it occurs, appears and fades over several days.
  • Days 1–7: avoid saunas, steam rooms, intense exercise and facials. No retinoids or acids for three days.
  • Weeks 1–4: no visible change yet. This is normal — boosters act biologically rather than filling.
  • Weeks 4–6: the first noticeable improvement in hydration, glow and skin feel.
  • After the course: the cumulative effect peaks around eight to twelve weeks after the final session.
  • Months 6–9: the effect gradually fades. Most patients repeat at six to nine months.

Are skin boosters safe?

Hyaluronic acid boosters have an excellent safety record and are reversible with hyaluronidase. The risks are lower than for structural filler because the volumes are small and placement is superficial.

Valentmedica works with licensed clinics in Istanbul and doctors registered with the Turkish Ministry of Health, using CE-marked products with batch numbers recorded in your notes. Hyaluronidase is kept on site at every clinic that injects hyaluronic acid for us.

Risks you should know about

  • Injection bumps: expected for up to 24 hours, deliberate with Profhilo.
  • Bruising: common, particularly under the eyes and on the neck.
  • Swelling: mild and short-lived.
  • Persistent lumps: uncommon, and dissolvable with hyaluronidase if hyaluronic acid.
  • Infection: uncommon with proper skin preparation.
  • Allergic reaction: very rare with hyaluronic acid; polynucleotides are salmon-derived, so declare a fish allergy.
  • Vascular occlusion: much less likely than with filler, but not impossible.
  • No visible response: a realistic possibility, and the most common disappointment.

If you have a fish or seafood allergy, tell your doctor before any polynucleotide treatment — these products are derived from purified salmon DNA.

Can skin boosters be combined with other treatments?

They are designed to be. Boosters address skin quality, which is one of three components of facial ageing alongside volume and position.

A face that looks tired usually has all three problems in different proportions. Treating only one is why some patients feel their results never quite add up — the lines are gone but the skin still looks dull, or the volume is back but the surface is crepey.

Commonly combined with

  • Botulinum toxin: for movement lines that boosters do not affect. See botox.
  • Dermal fillers: for volume and structure. Boosters improve the skin covering the filler. See dermal fillers.
  • PRP skin rejuvenation: stimulates your own collagen, and many patients alternate the two across a treatment plan. See PRP skin rejuvenation.
  • Thread lift: threads reposition, boosters improve the skin being repositioned. See thread lift.
  • Facelift or eyelid surgery: boosters afterwards address skin quality that surgery cannot change, usually from three months post-operatively.

Boosters are particularly worth considering for the neck and décolletage, which most patients neglect and which frequently gives away age more than the face does.

How to prepare for skin boosters

Avoid blood thinners, arrive without makeup, declare a fish allergy before polynucleotides, and leave a week before any event.

  • Blood thinners: avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatories, fish oil, vitamin E and alcohol for a few days to reduce bruising.
  • Fish allergy: declare it before polynucleotide treatment — these products are salmon-derived.
  • No makeup: arrive with clean skin.
  • Retinoids and acids: stop three days before and resume three days after.
  • Dental work and vaccinations: leave two weeks either side, as with any injectable, to reduce the small risk of a delayed inflammatory nodule.
  • Events: leave at least a week. Bumps settle in a day but bruising can last several.
  • Realistic framing: decide in advance what improvement would make the course worth repeating, and judge it at eight weeks against a baseline photograph.

Skin booster results and how long they last

Expect improved hydration, glow and skin feel from four to six weeks, peaking eight to twelve weeks after the course, and lasting six to nine months.

Patients consistently describe the result in terms of how their skin feels and how makeup sits on it rather than in terms of visible change. Skin that holds water looks better in a way that is hard to photograph and easy to notice in a mirror. Profhilo in particular produces a modest firming effect that patients tend to describe as their face looking less tired rather than less lined.

It is a maintenance treatment rather than a correction, and it suits that framing. Patients in their thirties and forties who repeat a course every six to nine months are preserving skin quality rather than chasing a change — and that is a reasonable use of money. Patients expecting a visible transformation from an injectable that does not alter structure are usually disappointed, and we would rather set that expectation now. Judge it at eight weeks against a standardised photograph taken without makeup. You can see comparisons in our before and after gallery.

Skin boosters in Turkey: frequently asked questions

At Valentmedica, £260–£320 per Profhilo session, £200–£280 for Restylane Skinboosters and £160–£240 for polynucleotides. The UK equivalent is typically £350–£700 per session. Most patients add a first session to another trip and continue at home.

Filler is cross-linked to hold a shape and is placed deep to lift and contour. Boosters are uncross-linked or lightly cross-linked, spread through the skin and act biologically — hydrating and stimulating collagen rather than adding volume.

Profhilo for laxity and overall bio-remodelling, Restylane Skinboosters for hydration and fine lines, polynucleotides for repair and thin under-eye skin. Your doctor should explain the choice rather than offering one product for everything.

An extremely high concentration of hyaluronic acid with no chemical cross-linking, injected at five fixed points per side. It spreads through the tissue over 24 hours and stimulates collagen and elastin. It is the booster with the strongest claim to improving laxity, though the effect is subtle.

With Profhilo the bumps are deliberate — the product is placed as a bolus and spreads through the tissue over 24 hours. Massaging it defeats the mechanism. They will be gone by the next morning.

Two for Profhilo, four weeks apart. Three for Restylane Skinboosters, three to four for polynucleotides. Then repeat the course at six to nine months.

No. Boosters change skin quality, not facial structure. A hollow cheek needs filler or fat transfer, and spending on boosters for that will disappoint you.

Very — and it is one of the best uses. The neck and décolletage become crepey early and are neglected by most treatments. Profhilo and polynucleotides both work well there.

Yes, and polynucleotides in particular suit that area. Under-eye skin is thin, laser is risky there and filler is unforgiving, so a treatment that improves skin quality without adding volume is useful.

Yes. Volumes are tiny and placement is superficial, so vascular occlusion is much less likely than with structural filler. Hyaluronic acid boosters can also be dissolved. Declare any fish allergy before polynucleotides, which are salmon-derived.

Six to nine months before the effect gradually fades. It is a maintenance treatment rather than a one-off correction, and most patients repeat a course once or twice a year.

They work differently. PRP stimulates your own collagen production using your own growth factors; boosters place hyaluronic acid or polynucleotides into the skin. Many patients alternate them, and the combination addresses more than either alone.
